Ecorend Standard Mesh is an alkali-resistant, glass fibre reinforcing mesh for embedding in render basecoats to provide reinforcement and impact resistance in external wall insulation (EWI) and render systems.

Purpose: Alkali resistance is crucial for maintaining the integrity of the mesh within cement-based render systems, preventing degradation and ensuring long-term reinforcement. Using Ecorend Standard Mesh is especially beneficial in Ecorend EWI systems or when using Ecorend MR1 Monocouche render as part of a two-coat system.

Application: The mesh should be embedded into the basecoat render, such as Ecorend Basecoat, while it is still wet. Position the mesh horizontally or vertically, ensuring a minimum overlap of 100mm at all joints. Use a trowel to gently smooth the mesh into the basecoat, ensuring it's fully encapsulated within the upper third of the basecoat layer. This ensures optimal performance and prevents the mesh from being visible on the finished surface.
