Usages
K Rend R7 Acrylic may be used as a priming coat to combat problems due to insufficient key or poor suction. Following dilution the primer is applied directly to the wall just before rendering and then the render is applied whilst the primer is still tacky.
Alternatively K Rend R7 Acrylic may be used as a gauging liquid to combat problems due to insufficient key or poor suction. Following dilution it is mixed directly with the render and the render applied normally.
K Rend R7 Acrylic, following dilution, may be mixed with K Rend HP12 Base to prepare a polymer modified scud coat. This can then be used as a splatter-dash or stipple coat on poor backgrounds to combat problems due to very poor suction or lack of key.
Dilution
- Dilute K Rend R7 Acrylic by pouring the material into clean drinking water.
- For most applications a dilution of 1 part K Rend R7 Acrylic to 4 parts water is recommended.
- Site trials should be carried out to determine the optimum dosage rate.
Priming Coat
- Dilute K Rend R7 Acrylic as required.
- Mix render, ready for application.
- Apply primer to surface using brush or roller.
- Apply render to primed background whilst the primer is still wet or tacky.
- Do not allow primer to skin over or dry before applying render.
Gauging Liquid
- Dilute K Rend R7 Acrylic as required.
- Use diluted K Rend R7 Acrylic as gauging liquid to mix render.
- Apply render to substrate as normal.
- K Rend R7 Acrylic may affect the render performance including handling properties and setting times.
Scud Coat
- Dilute K Rend R7 Acrylic as required.
- Use diluted K Rend R7 Acrylic as gauging liquid to mix with K Rend HP12 Base into a slurry.
- Apply as splatter-dash or stipple coat to background.
- Allow scud coat to cure before rendering
Coverage
As a primer, approximate coverage is 5 to 10 square metres per litre of diluted material, depending on substrate and level of application.
Packaging
K Rend R7 Acrylic is packed in 5 Kg or 25 Kg plastic containers
